Child Custody Colloquium Addresses Digital Age Challenges

In the fast-moving Digital Age, social media and mobile technology have fueled change to the practice of family law, and the configuration of families has evolved with remarkable speed beyond the two-parent household.  These developments are challenging family law professionals to adapt to new realities.  The 2016 Child Custody Colloquium will focus on how these emerging developments impact child custody matters from the perspective of the attorneys, mental health professionals, and judicial officers who must address them every day.

Family Divorce Solutions members featured as program presenters include Angela Bissada, Psy.D. and Diane Goodman, Esq.

The program will open with an interactive session featuring teens and tweens describing the 24/7 presence of the internet in their lives and how it impacts their daily existence.

Program panels will provide insight and suggestions for addressing the increasing prevalence of rapidly-evolving technology as it inevitably seeps into even the most basic of custody matters.

Panelists will also explore issues unique to teenage custody matters, opportunities to address these dynamics with court orders and creative stipulations, and the evidentiary issues that arise when digital evidence comes into the courtroom.  Our last panel will examine the progressive definition of parentage and the psychological and legal issues that arise in multiple-parent families.
