8th Annual Cultural Competency in Family Law Practice

Culture & Lockdown event with CCFPDiane Goodman, JD, PhD, will be speaking on intimate partner violence in the LGBTQ community on July 25 as part of Culturally Speaking events from CCFP.

This year the most popular part of the event, i.e. “Lunch with your Family Law Judge” is substantially expanded. It is presided jointly by Hon. Christine Byrd and  Hon. Bruce Iwasaki, Family Law Judges LASC.

There will be a Welcome Ceremony, at 8:45 (where Dianne Fetzer for ACFLS will participate and the Sponsors will be introduced), and two (2) Panels of speakers starting at 9:00am and 10:30am, with two 15 minute breaks in between. The panelists will examine cultural aspects of Lockdown and its impact on the marginalized communities, immigrants and LGBTQ families. The first panel of speakers is presided by Hon. Mark A. Juhas, and the second panel by Hon. Amy M. Pellman, Family Law Judges, LASC.

To make the program more affordable, the cost of attendance has been reduced to $45.00 for ACFLS, AFCC, IALA, and SFVBA members if registered by July 15, 2020. After July 15, the price will be $75.
