Family Law Specialist

Lynette Berg Robe, J.D., M.A., is a Certified Family Law Specialist, certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, and has been practicing all aspects of family law for over 29 years.  Lynette has been committed to consensual dispute resolution her entire career.  She has served as a mediator, consulting attorney in mediation, negotiator and litigator, depending upon the needs of the individual case.

When Collaborative Law began, she took the first training offered in Los Angeles.  Lynette has gained a reputation for providing high quality, ethical, and personalized service to her clients. She has an “AV Preeminent” rating from Martindale-Hubble’s Peer Review Rating, which indicates the respect of her colleagues in the family law community.  Lynette is now confining her practice only to consensual dispute resolution in all aspects of family law.

Lynette obtained her J.D. at UCLA School of Law, where she was chosen to be on UCLA Law Review. Her undergraduate and master’s degrees were from the University of Kansas, where she graduated summa cum laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Lynette has been a speaker in numerous continuing family law educational programs involving child custody, domestic violence, mediation, collaborative law and other issues and has written many articles, appearing in the State Bar Family Law News (serving as editor in 2007-2008), in the ACFLS The Specialist, and the LACBA Family Law Section News & Review and e-news. Lynette has been very active in the family law community. She served on the California Board of AFCC  (Association of Family and Conciliation Courts), an international, multi-disciplinary organization, for five years; and she was chair of the 2012 AFCC-CA conference held in Los Angeles.

She serves on the Board of ACFLS (Association of Certified Family Law Specialists) and is the immediate past president.  She also served as Legislation Chair for ACFLS in 2009-2010.

Lynette  has served on the LACBA Family Law Section since 1998, and she was chair of the Family Law Section in 2012-2013. She now serves on the board as a past chair. She received the 2012 LACBA Matthew Rae award for outstanding section chair.

In 2011, Lynette received the Zephyr Ramsey Award for her commitment to access to justice for all from the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law.
