Topic: Financial Disclosures in Divorce

During this presentation Alex and Warren will discuss how to prepare the Income and Expense Statement including what to include as income, salary and wages and other income only or perhaps perquisites and/or phantom income (loss) and how to develop your living expenses.  They will also discuss how to prepare the Schedule of Assets and Debts including options for gathering documents and identifying separate property issues as well as the possible consequences for lack of disclosure.

As a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner and Certified Divorce Financial Analysts™ (CDFA™), I examine the financial implications and after-tax consequences of various options for dividing property and providing or receiving child and/or spousal support in divorce.

Prior to co-founding Marriage Financial Solutions, my comprehensive expertise comes from over a decade in investment analysis and company and securities valuation. In addition to being trained in Collaborative Divorce, I am a member of the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts (IDFA™) and the Association of Divorce Financial Planners (ADFP).

 

Warren Sacks believes in friendly and personal attention to clients. He explains complicated financial information so it is understandable, providing options to clients so they can choose the options that best meet the client’s interests. His goal is to prepare unbiased reports in order for the clients to conclude their marital dissolution process as easily and effectively as possible. Warren works closely with all team members and provides the tools necessary for the clients to proceed through the process by utilizing a “hands-on” approach.

Warren is a Partner with the accounting and consulting firm of White, Zuckerman, Warsavsky, Luna, & Hunt, LLP. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has over 30 years of experience in the preparation of financial reports used to assist the client’s in choosing their financial options in the collaborative and mediation processes. He is a member in good standing of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Warren is certified in financial forensic and is accredited in business valuation.

Warren is a recipient of the Eureka Award, presented annually by Collaborative Practice California to recognize and honor individuals who have made significant contributions and demonstrated an abiding dedication to establishing and sustaining Collaborative Practice in California.

Warren is a board member of the Los Angeles Collaborative Family Law Association (LACFLA) and the Collaborative Practice California Foundation.  Warren is a member of three collaborative divorce groups:  FDS, ABD and LA Westside Divorce Professionals.  He successfully completed numerous mediation training courses. Warren is a regular presenter at LACFLA’s yearly Collaborative Practice education program, training interdisciplinary professionals which enables them to work in the Collaborative Process. Warren has also trained interdisciplinary professionals at CPCal statewide conferences (Celebrations) in brainstorming and other Collaborative tools over the last two decades.
