Jami Fosgate 

Jami Fosgate understands that divorce is emotionally and financially difficult for parents and their children. She is divorced and had to endure the legal process herself. As a result of her own experience with divorce, Jami shifted from her successful career in marketing to enroll in Loyola Law School so she could become a family law attorney and assist others through the minefield of divorce.

Fosgate graduated from Loyola and became a licensed attorney in 2004. After several years of handling high conflict divorce cases, she grew frustrated by the high costs of litigation and the long delays caused by courtroom budget cuts. Jami decided to devote her law practice entirely to peacemaking and providing people with affordable divorce solutions. Jami focuses her practice on mediation and Collaborative Practice to facilitate agreements between people in conflict to enable them to create a solution that is tailored to their unique family situation.

At Loyola Law School, Fosgate was on the Dean's List each semester, active in the Evening Women's Law Association, selected for membership in the St. Thomas More Law Honor Society, a Law Review staff member and earned the "Best Oral Advocate" award in the annual Scott Moot Court Competition. While attending law school, Jami served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Lawrence W. Crispo (Ret.) at Los Angeles Superior Court and worked for two years as a law clerk at California's premier appellate firm, Horvitz & Levy. Jami graduated in the top 15% of her law class. Jami is admitted to practice law before all California courts and the United States District Court, Central District.

Upon graduation from Loyola Law School, Jami was selected to serve for two years as a Law Clerk for Los Angeles Superior Court in Civil Law and Motion. Since 2006, Jami has devoted her practice exclusively to Family Law. She is a graduate of Woody Mosten's Divorce Mediation training program, the Center for Civic Mediation’s beginning and advanced mediation courses and the Los Angeles Collaborative Family Law Association’s collaborative law course. She serves as a volunteer mediator for Los Angeles Superior Court.
